black border was created by e carne
On Safari and Chrome, I have a wide black border around my videos. It's not there on Firefox.

How can I get rid of it, and have my video play at full size.

the site is www.helpmanagemystress.com/secrets

Hi. If you are on a device that has not Flash support then AllVideos will fallback to HTML5 video. The black borders are something you cannot change in that case. This is how HTML5 video full screen mode is implemented currently. What's your operating system?

The borders are appearing on my laptop - so Flash is not the issue. I am on Mac, using OSX 10.9

I was able to get around it by making the video size physically the same size as the default, and by defining that in my tag to call the video ( ie video|540|304|1{/ )

By doing that they went away. but if the video is anything but default size, they show up.

What you describe is normal and has to do with your screen's aspect ratio. Black borders appear in order not to stretch the video.

This border is around the entire video - not just on the side where the space has to be "filled"

seems attachments don't work with the forum. Here is the link to an uploaded image on my site:

I still don't get any borders on the link you provided. Can you try from a different computer? Maybe something is wrong with the flash setup. Also check that you have the latest version of Flash.

I had to resize the video so it matched the default in the plugin setup.
When I did that, the borders went away. BUT if the video was anything but the plugin default - they were there.

This is a LIVE revenue generating site. I couldn't leave the ugly video there - so I had to compromise with a work-around.

That doesn't mean the problem has gone away - the root is still there - if the video dimensions are different than default, then the ugly border returns.

I cannot help more without having a live example. I made several tests on a local environment and everything works fine for me. Are you sure that the borders where part of the Flash area and not HTML? I mean if your CSS has set fixed width and black background to the container it is normal to get the borders when video does not match the container dimensions.
