I admit I am not the greatest CSS person but I have been experimenting with a copy of the Movies layout and can't get it to do what I need. I am hoping someone can tell me what CSS lines I need to adjust to accomplish my goal (specifics below). I am sure this isn't a hard task but I can't figure out the correct places to change or add the stuff. I can change the text colors, sizes, etc. with no problem but changing the backgrounds and hover effects of the buttons is driving me crazy. Specifically I need to change the navigation-button areas shown here (default Movie styling):

I need to eventually get it to look something close to this with transparency and the fancy transparent gif overlay for the corners.:

Can anyone help me figure this out? Thank you in advance for any assistance you might provide!
