Multiple Category Menu View was created by Chris Casconi
I am having a menu link issue when I try to render a multiple category listing. Right now when all of the articles from all the categories are showing up. I would just like the actual categories to show and then the user can click that category to see all articles.

Here is what the link listing looks like now:

Cat 1 Article 1
Cat 1 Article 2
Cat 2 Article 1
Cat 2 Article 2

I'd like the links to look like this:

Cat 1
Cat 2

I have tried all sorts of options and configurations but I cannot get anything to work like the way I want it.

Any help is appreciated!

You need to enable the Catalog Option in that category's settings.

I tired that with no luck. I have catalog view enabled for the two categories I have selected but my menu link only shows articles from those categories and not just the name of the category that would proceed to another page with the articles.

You need to enable the Catalog mode only on the parent category.
Make sure that, this category is not inheriting its settings from another category.

In your menu item include only this category.
If your menu item is pointing towards multiple categories, then there is an option (in the menu item) not to include items from child categories.

Still can't seem to get it to work. I know I must have something checked I am not supposed to. Sorry for the trouble

Here is my category layout,

Main Cat
--Sub Cat 1
---Final Cat 1 <- cat I want to display as an image from a menu item. Items seen once image clicked
--Sub Cat 2
---Final Cat 2 <- cat I want to display as an image from a menu item. Items seen once image clicked

On my menu link settings I have selected 'Final Cat 1' and 'Final Cat 2' with no child items being showed.

In K2 Cat settings I have 'Sub Cat 1' and 'Sub Cat 2' set yes on catalog mode. Set to 'no' on 'Final Cat 1' and 'Final Cat 2'. 'Main Cat' is set to yes on catalog mode.

No category is inheriting items.

Clear my cache and still only article titles show up on the menu item.

The subcategories block will display the first level by default.

eg: On Main cat you will be able to see Sub Cat1 and 2 provided that the menu item points only to Main cat.

If you are looking for a custom solution you can do the following. Override category.php and publish a new menu module.

In the menu module map the subcategories and use the menu item's image as the category image. You can also use the menu item's notes. This way you will have a menu module visible regardless of your category/ menu item settings.
Just remember to make these menu items aliases so you won't have double K2 menu items.
