"seo" in the URL of Category and Articles

I had to make a change to a name of one of my categories on my site. After the change was made in K2 and the main menu for the name change part of the URL for the category and all the articles contained in that specific category url shows "seo" in the link i.e. index.php/seo/news/category or index.php/seo/news/category/article-name

The seo part of the URL wasn't there before the change of the name and the rest of my categories look fine. Any idea how to remove the "seo" part out of the url. I have looked through all the parameters and all the options in the category setup page in K2 as well as the options in joomla menu page and in neither place do the link show "seo" as part of the url.

Thanks for the help.

What is that category's alias?
Also is there another K2 menu item present. It could one that is left blank and points towards all categories.

Category alias is now xfinity-series-news it was nationwide-series-news prior to the category name change. I deleted the old alias out before changing it to xfinity-series-news. I also have 3 others the same thing is happening to where I made changes on the menu and the k2 category.

I didn't add any menus, only changed the name of them from the old name to the new name.

Are you using any SEO/SEF extensions?
How about K2's advanced SEF?

I have the built in Joomla SEF turned on in the global and using K2 advance SEF turned on as well.

I have 27 categories and the 4 I made the name change this morning have the seo in the url. None of the rest seem to have been affected.

What is your "Prefix for category URLs" and "Custom prefix for item URLs" in K2's advanced SEF ?

I am completely in the dark here.
In you position I would double check all menu items, even the ones that are on other menus.

I feel like I am going around in circles here. Posted on the Joomla forums they were no help and said to contact you guys or who made the template. Joomshaper who built the template who said it's not their problem and to contact you guys.

Does anyone have any ideas at all what might have caused this? I cannot find any references anywhere on the Joomla forums to this happening to anyone else.

Really appreciate the help.

Right after I posted this I got a suggestion from someone which seemed to fix the issue at hand. They had me turn off SEO/SEF in both joomla and K2 and clear out all the cache and turn SEO/SEF back on like it was and go to the site. Once I did so the "seo" portion of the url was no longer there in either the category that was changed or the articles within the category.

Strange huh... Hope this helps someone else out there.
