Order items like in Backend? was created by Patrick
Hi,

i have a link which shows 5 categories of K2 articles (wheel rims) on the frontpage.
But the order is chaos.

How can i do to have exactly the same order as i have in the backend. I cant find the setting. In the article backend the order is OK, but on frontend it shows a different order. It is very important to have the order like i do in backend.

Now the menu item setting is order "oldest first". I tried also by sort, but then nothing changes. Also in the categorie setting, it doesnt work.
I need simply the order of the articles from backend.

Please help

Thanx a lot
Best regards
Patrick

Hello Patrick,

You need to change the ordering setting in the menu item to "Ordering".

Hello Krikor,

i did it already, but the problem is the following:
I have several categories:

Maincat A
- Subcat 1
- Subcat 2
- Subcat 3

Maincat B
- Subcat 1
- Subcat 2
- Subcat 3

When i say to the menu item
- Subcat 1 from A
- Subcat 2 from A
- Subcat 3 from A

The ordering works fine, but when i say to the menu item:

- Subcat 1 from A
- Subcat 2 from A
- Subcat 3 from A
- Subcat 1 from B
- Subcat 2 from B
- Subcat 3 from B

All the items are in disorder, i dont understand it. (and the ordering from the items and also the categories in Backend is correct)

Regards
Patrick

The menu item's setting has two options for ordering.
One for single categories and one for multiple, did you change the correct setting?

I'm sorry, but in my opinion, its a bug. All works fine, but when i have a lot of several categories, it doesnt work at all.

@Patrick

What's the ordering you have in the backend? What's the column your items are sorted? You need to click on the "Ordering" column. Then reorder items as you wish and finally set the menu ordering to "Ordering".

Hi,

i've made it already x times before the thread, but no success.

its a site about felloes. (ATS, RONAL,SPEEDLINE, RH ALURAD)
The ordering works fine when you enter on the site and click on the main menu f.ex ATS-Sommerfelgen or ATS Winterfelgen or Ronal Sommerfelgen....
They shows the categories:
ATS SOMMER (maincat) which contain:
- ATS -Sommerfelgen (subcat)
- ATS - Winterfelgen (subcat)

THE ORDERING IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT HERE

But the big problem is the Tab "Felgen" on the main menu which shows following categories:

ATS SOMMER (maincat) which contain:
- ATS -Sommerfelgen (subcat)
- ATS - Winterfelgen (subcat)

RONAL SOMMER (maincat) which contain:
- RONAL -Sommerfelgen (subcat)
- RONAL - Winterfelgen (subcat)

SPEEDLINE SOMMER (maincat) which contain:
- SPEEDLINE -Sommerfelgen (subcat)
- SPEEDLINE - Winterfelgen (subcat)

RH ALURAD SOMMER (maincat) which contain:
- RH ALURAD -Sommerfelgen (subcat)
- RH ALURAD - Winterfelgen (subcat)

WHEN I CLICK ON ORDERING; MENU ITEM FELGEN; THE ORDERING IS THEN COMPLETELY INCORRECT:
It begins with RH ALURAD, then you have items from ATS, and the Ronal, and the ATS (completely disorderd)
It should be:
ATS
RONAL
SPEEDLINE
RH ALURAD (like it is in the backend)

I've checked all categories and items in the backend, the order in backend is correct.

Best regards
Patrick

What's the menu type of the page that the ordering is incorrect? Is there a link to the page with the issue?
