I'm looking for a solution in K2 that sends email notofocations to K2 authors when there is a new comment on their post. What's the best solution to do this?

This can be done through a custom plugin or you can look for an extension at the JED.

I've looked in the JED but can't find a plugin that sends a notification to the article author. Do you know a good plugin that does the job?

I was looking at that too awhile back and I couldnt find one neither. So in the end I just used another comments component for K2 that has all these features in-built in it. I chose Komento for it. It is a bloat but it has advanced features like notifying authors, admins, subscribers, etc..

For the forum of K2 to work properly, that is that you get a discussion going, it is essential that a least the author is notified of a new comment. There is a notifications plugin, but it sends mails to preset email addresses. It shouldn't be too difficult to create a plugin that grabs the author's e-mail?

Has anyone come up with a better solution for this. The plug-in mentioned hasn't been updated for some years.
I am using Joomkit K2Notify plugin, but the developer stopped working on it.
I 've also found this plugin, bitface.ru/bitextensions/bitplugins/bfnotifyk2-plugin, but not sure what the status is.

Notifications, especially on comments, should be a core K2 feature.
