Hi,

I have a website built on Joomla's shinetheme Boxme, that comes with K2 installed.

Just got around to getting the blog set up using the K2 features, whilst leaving the website as is.

So far so good. My intention is to gradually gather my blog posts from blogger and integrate them onto my website.

I have a few queries and I have looked but couldn't find answers already. If these topics have come up before, please forgive me.

1. My main website uses Boxme with no sidebar. The K2 blog looked bad using "the default", so I used Boxme with right sidebar, which seem to be the thing. However, the animated logo goes too big and I can't remember how I made it work right before. Luckily it is only happening on the pages using Boxme with sidebar. If anyone has any ideas, that'd be great!

2. As far as I know I have altered the sizing for images. I actually have only uploaded one through the image tab. I found out that images uploaded that way appear above the item in category view and item view. However, it is massive in item view (width about 850px which is item width, on my screen). I have got rid of it from category view but don't know how to edit in item view.

It's only in item view, as I prefer images within my content, because...

3. In order to have an image in "Recent Posts" lists, you have to have uploaded in image tab. What is even more annoying is, if you don't have an image in the "Recent Posts" lists, you get placeholder text, that I can't seem to get rid of!

So really what this comes down to, is getting rid of the placeholder text if no image - and controlling the image size anyway!

Welcome to K2.
The 1 and 3 are template related issues. You need to address these issues to the template's developer.

As far 2 You can change the size from the category's settings.
If it doesn't change it means that there are hardcoded CSS values. If that is the case you also need to address this issue to the template's developer.

I have solved the logo problem :).

The other 2 problems are within the K2 area, so not the shinetheme area.

Inspecting the element for the massive image shows it set out as:
start INTRO IMAGE --> (the greyed out type)

I'm looking for <div class="big-img-box">

which has

<img style="width 100%" ... blah blah

If I change that in inspect element to 50%, I'd be happy with result.

Just not sure where to find that div class within a CSS somewhere!!

As for the placeholder text, I see talk of that in K2 parameters, I choose hide, but it still shows...

Any ideas?

These parts are from the overrides that the template's developer created. In k2 the image will inherit the size that is given in the category's settings. The 100% was not placed by us.

The placeholder is also not present in a default K2 template so it was also created by the template developer. That said I am afraid you have to address these issue to the template's developer.

Yes, I am now fiddling about in the theme's CSS. I am making progress but still not happy with the layout :/.

I'll have to ask the theme folks how to get rid of that element. I'd be happy not to have a preview image as long as I can get rid of the default placeholder text!

There is probably an error in the if/else statement that prints an image even if the item does not have an image attached to it. The devs will know for sure thoughs.
