Error 404 on read more was created by Mike Economou
Hi,
in a category list layout, when I click the Item Title or the read more link, I get a 404 error page.
The installation is Joomla 3.3.6, latest Gantry v4.1.27 and 2 languages (en / gr )

In greek language everything works fine and the category url is : www.mysite.com/gr/proionta
I get the category's Items in Greek language as expected.
When I click "read more" in an item I go to item with url : www.mysite.com/gr/proionta/proion-1
When I am in english the category url is : www.mysite.com/en/products
I get the category's Items in Englist language as expected.
When I click "read more" in an item I go to item with url : www.mysite.com/en/products/product-1
but instead of the item I get a 404 error page.

GR :
Category alias : proionta
item alias : proion-1

EN
Category alias : products
item alias : product-1

Any ideas ?

Thank you

I realized that If I create a menu item that points to K2 item I have no error 404.

But as you can understand the site editor cannot create a menu item every time he creates a new k2 Item.

I repeat, this hapens ONLY for the second language.

So is this a K2 bug ?
Can I have an answer from the k2 team please ???

This is not a K2 bug.
The www.mysite.com/en/products/product-1 is not a K2 URL, unless you removed the id from K2's advanced SEF. Removing the ID is not recommended since there is no way to differentiate between two items with the same alias.

Are you using any SEO/SEF extensions?

Yes, I have removed the ID's (for item and category) from k2 advanced SEF Parameters.
No, I don't use any SEO/SEF extensions.

that means that there is no way to acomplishe this and I have to switch back to joomla default content ?

thank you

Never said that, try again with the item's ID enabled.

Yes, It works with Item ID enabled.
So this is the only way right ?
or there are other options using 3rd party (SEO/SEF) extensions to avoid the id in url ?

sh404sef will strip the ID from the URL but I do not know how it will behave when you have multiple items with the same alias.

The site owner is well informed not to have duplicate aliases.
I will try it out.

Than you for your help.

Hi, I have the same issue.

I'm using joomla! 3.4.1 with K2 2.6.9 and Advanced SEF enabled, with optin Use the item ID in the URL set to no. My site is multilang, en - es. When using es site (as is the default lang), the URLs works just fine, I can access a main menu item that points to a K2 category, and can view all items details through read more link, but if I change the language to en, the "en/" prefix is added to the URL by joomla! and all K2 item details fails to load with 404 error...

IE:
This URL works: www.site.com/nuestros-clientes/insumos-mundo
This URL fails with 404 error: www.site.com/en/our-clients/insumos-mundo

Is that fixable without enabling item ids in URL?, if I enable it, it works, but I wanted to get rid of them.

Thanks in advise!
