I've install the sh404Sef component and disabled the seo functions, however in K2 it appears meta description content is taken of of the description of the category and not the item of the specific article.

I've tried to create an override and with the code you gave when replying to this questions meta description is broken

Hi Nurit,

Before you can implement the solution I provided that post , you need to do the following:

1) Create an extra field group (and assign to category) if not already done
2) Create the extra fields for each respective tag: "title_tag" and "meta_description" (assigned to extra field group)
3) Input data into the extra fields for item(s)
4) Remove the default meta title & description produced by K2 (I use NoNumber ReReplacer as to not hack the code)

however in the code it seems does't get it this need to get the content for the meta description from there...
you can see for yourself in the following webpage - as an example
and no - it doesn't work although I've disabled the Sh404sef seo functions.

Which version of K2 are you using? Your Joomla! version is also outdated as i can see in your screenshot. K2 will use the description you enter in the form. If you leave it blank it will use as description the introtext and fulltext.

The K2 plugin that I have was installed around the beginning of 2014 - we do have a the description field but the it seems that the description in the code is taken from the general category.
All the meta descriptions are filled in.

Do you know how to solve this code issue?

Please update K2 and Joomla! to their latest version.

I've checked again - I'm using the latest version and it still doesn't work.

1-focus on your meta descriptions.
2-Remove duplicate metas.
3-Block your ODP listing.
