I exported my tables with phpmyadmin from joomla 2.5 site and imported them to the new joomla 3 site database. When I go into the back end of my new joomla site my items, catagories etc. are there but multiplied 5 times.

If I try to erase 1 of the 5 items in the backend of joomla, then all 5 items erase.
Any thoughts how to correct this.

How many instances of each item occur?

I ended up re-installing joomla then imported the database again and it worked.
