Hi guys,

When I try to upload an item image on K2, or even select one from the server, the item saves normally, no error message, but the image simply doesn't appear. Can you please help me solve this issue?

Maybe if there is a way to make the Item Image be automatically the first image from the Simple Image Gallery, then uploading wouldn't be necessary?

Media Manager and Simple Image Gallery are working normally. FTP is enabled on the Joomla configuration. Joomla version is 3.4.1 and K2 2.6.9. I tried reinstalling K2 and checking the memory limit and it didn't fix.

Have you checked your category's settings?
Can you see the image in the backend?

Hi Krikor. No, no item image in the backend, except for the image gallery.

Can you change other aspects of the item like text or extra fields?
Which PHP version are you using?

Did this appear out of the blue or was this issue from the start?

Furthermore have you checked your error_log?

Krikor, the problem started when I changed the hosting company. I had many problems, but by enabling FTP most of them were solved. The only things that are not working yet are image uploads on K2 and updating Joomla. Current PHP version: 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.19

This is my error_log, I believe it has nothing to do with the problem.

I suspect it's a permission problem in the /cache folder. But the permission is already 755. And the user is superuser.

What could be causing the problem in /cache?

Since the problem started when you changed hosting this is probably a server setup issue. Is the cache folder marked as writable in the system information page?

Yes, it is marked as writable. It's weird because uploading with media manager works, but not with K2.

Can you notice any of the requirements failing in the K2 information page? To fix the permissions issue you can simply ask your hosting provider to:

1. Set up PHP as CGI/Fast CGI not as an Apache module ( if you are using Apache ) .
2. Set all the site folders permissions to 755.
3. Set all the site files permissions to 644.

Lefteris, that's it. I haven't checked the information page. The /media/k2 page was not writable.

I changed from 755 to 777. I know it's not recommended, but at least that solved the problem.
