All Items missing after 2.7 update was created by Wire Creative
Hi,

Here's a fun issue. I just spun off two sandboxes for a website in Joomla 2.5 to experiment with updates. On both sites -- one still at 2.5.8 and one upgraded to 3.5.1 -- when I upgraded to from K2 2.6.9 to 2.7 all the items and categories disappeared from the k2 admin screens. They're still in the database -- all the k2 items still show in the front-end pages as before -- but the admin screens show no content (see attached).

On the 2.5 site, which I did second, I checked to make sure that after the migration to the sandbox site, all of the items displayed correctly in the admin while still in version 2.6.9. They disappeared directly after installing 2.7.0.

Was there a database table rename or something? This hasn't happened on the few other sites I've upgraded to 2.7.0.

Thanks,
Greg

The database schema has not been changed.
It is likely that the database tables have been locked.
Can you try repairing them?

I've tried repairing both through Joomla's database tools and cpanel's to no success. Even though I can see all that data in the k2 tables in the database, nothing will show up in the K2 Items or Categories screens.Users and user groups seem to work fine. I don't have any tags or extra fields, so I can't tell whether those parts are affected.

Hi, thanks for the ideas. No, the items have not returned after clearing the cache and disabling the redirect plugin.

The K2 site says it's compatible with Joomla 1.5, 2.5, 3x. I've only had this problem on a 2.5 site. The few Joomla 3.5 sites I've updated have been fine.

I made my two test copies of the site using Akeeba Backup and restored them to a hosting account on a different host, as one of my goals is to move the site from its current host. I thought I'd try out some updates, as well. That part hasn't gone so well.

Are you using a multilingual site?
Can you try switching between languages?

No, it's not multi-lingual, and the filters are at their default states.

Can you try the following?

Clear your browser's cache AND cookies to see if the items are showing up?

Is the item's list showing up in the latest item tab (Joomla! dashboard)?

Clearing the cookies fixed it. Weird.
