I am using Joomla 3.5.1 and K2 2.7.0.

We have a Blog on a site we are building. We can access is via the Dashboard > K2 Quick Icons > Items, or by Components > K2 Items. We have a number of blog items already published, but want to add some older items from our previous web site.

From what we can tell, it will only present items in the order they were added to the site we are now building (ID order). We want them to be ordered by the Item > Publishing & Metadata > Publishing > Creation Date, which we can set, thereby "back-dating" items as we wish.

In short, we want to order the items by whatever date we wish to set—we'd be happy with any way that could be done.

Is that possible?

Other items on the wish list:

1. How do we set the total number of posts that will appear on the blog page that visitors see?
2. How come older items no longer appear, even though we have set the "Start publishing" and "Finish publishing" to be before and after the current date? We have about 35 items, but only 14 appear on the site...
3. On the page displaying the items that our visitors will see, some items appear side-by-side instead of in vertical list form. How do we prevent that?

We're newbies at this, so we may not understand terms unless they are detailed—apologies in advance!

You can change the category's ordering from its settings.
Setting the order to most recent first will do the trick.

I have the same problem and followed your instructions trying sorting "recent first" and then "recent first (by publishing date)" but seems not working for me. Is there something i miss?

If that category is inheriting its settings from another category then you need to edit the master category's settings.

Yes i edit both the main and the sub to make myself sure but didn't work.

Can you double check the menu item's settings?
