I dont think that is the proper place to put the tag.
I would create and override and place the tag in the proper file of the override ie: item.php etc

By default the title cannot accept HTML tags.
You can use an extrafield in order to use custom HTML markup, another approach would be this www.joomlaworks.net/forum/k2-en/40254-how-to-stop-k2-item-title-from-stripping-html-tags
