I'm facing something new on m site. I need two distinct setups due to two different user levels.
The main problem is that they must have two different root folders for uploaded pictures, eg:
author level user: images/authorpics
admin level user: images/adminpics

So when publishing content, each use their specific tag to call out the plugin.

Hi. No you cannot have two installations. For such use case you might need to take a look at the Pro version which provides different folder for each user when it is used in the front-end. An other option should be to set the root folder to images and have users enter the relative path like:
{gallery}authorpics/blablabla{/gallery} and {gallery}adminpics/blablabla{/gallery}

So I'll take the conventional way then...
