Fotis created the topic: Recommended shared hosting (in case you're frustrated with your current one!)
We regularly hear people complaining about their hosting company, either cause they are not receiving the support they pay/expect or because their server is so badly setup they can't even run Joomla! (or Mambo) properly.

We've been professionally in the web development business since 2002. So we'd like to share our experience (using various web hosts) with you and propose an indicative list of tried and tested web hosts so you can rest assure you'll be running Joomla! (or Mambo) properly and get a fair support service (always depending on the money you pay for).

We'd like to note that WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED with any of the web hosts mentioned here.

The web hosts we list below offer mostly:
- unlimited domains to add on a single account
- disk and bandwidth to eat your heart out
- cPanel, which is the best web host panel for shared servers
- some offer SSH support (great for quick backups and transfers)
- costs vary between 3-5 to 15-20 dollars per month (the saying "you always get what you pay" sticks 100% when it comes to hosting)

So here are the lists...

The big ones - Tried and thoroughly tested hosting that is cheap, stable, secure and provides adequate support (due to price obviously)

Bluehost - www.bluehost.com/joomla
Dreamhost - www.dreamhost.com
HostGator - www.hostgator.com/apps/joomla-hosting.shtml

Hosting we know (mostly through customers and users) is cheap, stable, secure and provides adequate support (due to price obviously) - in no particular order

EuroVPS - www.eurovps.com (highly recommended)
Rochen - www.rochenhost.com/joomla-hosting - unfortunately we can't recommend them anymore as they modify Joomla!'s .htaccess file effectively blocking third-party extensions from using the /cache folder to create temporary files, thus breaking lots of extensions
SiteGround - www.siteground.com/joomla-hosting.htm
Site5 - www.site5.com/p/joomla/
InMotion - www.inmotionhosting.com/joomla-hosting
CloudAccess - www.cloudaccess.net/products/joomla-hosting-and-support.html
A Small Orange - asmallorange.com

We hope these lists will shed some light to those of you who are looking to switch web hosts. ;)
