[SOLVED] K2 Attachments Path was created by Joseph Rebele
Folks,
I have a problem with K2 not changing the root folder for attachments. It continually directs to images/. I've used a relative path in Parameters/Advanced and an absolute path, as well. I cannot get the "browse on server" to redirect to another path other than images. I've ensured all my folders are set to a permission of 755. Any suggestions on how I can get this to redirect to another folder?
Thanks,
Joe

When you set a root folder for attachments in the k2 global parameters you actually set the folder path of the attachments upload folder. Where they will be stored after upload.
The browse server button is used to choose a file already uploaded in the server from a different location, to be stored in the one you have set in the global settings after you save the item.

Yiota,
Thanks for the prompt reply. Now I understand that root folder for attachments. But if you do want to add an attachment using browser server, the default root folder is images/. I would think it would be media/k2/attachments.
Here is my problem. I have over 2,000 documents that I have placed in a folder under $ROOT/Content. I imported the document names into the k2_items_attachments table and have them associated with the proper K2 items. I can look at each of the items and see that the attachments are correct. If you try to download it, it says file does not exist. Is there any way to change the attachments folder location? At the moment, I have all the documents in media/k2/attachments and when I try to download, it says file does not exist. I even tried putting the files in images/ and I still get the error message file does not exist. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong here?
Thanks,
Joe

Do your filenames contain any spaces or special characters?

Yiota,
The only special characters used are dash(-) and underscore(_) in the file names.
Thanks,
Joe

OK. So in media/k2/attachments you see all of your files with no issues when you save the K2 item unless when you click to download them both in the backend and frontend, right?

Yiota,
Correct. I loaded this table manually via a SQL script. The items display the correct attachments. You are correct. When I click download, I get the message no files exists. The files are loaded in /media/k2/attachments and I tried put a couple in /images, but still no download.
Thanks,
Joe

Try to remove the root attachments path you have set in the K2 global settings since your attachments are located in the default location.
