The K2 Category "select a template" dropdown is not recognizing the additional template that I upload to the K2 Override folder.

Note: I uploaded the new template override folder in the correct location:
templates\TEMPLATE_NAME\html\com_k2\

Hi. Are you using the latest version of K2? Note that if you have a folder there named "templates" you need to place your override folder there.

I just figured out the problem. I was uploading correctly...I changed from staging to root and did not change the directory to "public_html"
