In your overrrides (don't forget to use overrides if you are not already using)
getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates

You need to replace this code with an icon font
github.com/getk2/k2/blob/master/components/com_k2/templates/default/item.php#L57-L59

K2 offers such an icon font.
