500 Internal Server Error

Category: English K2 Community

The problem is that there were other datas in this website. I'd prefer to recover them and then upload to a recent vers.

To be honest, I already use joomla 2.5 for my websites.

Let's hope it will work...

My suggestion is,
since J!1.6 is no longer supported and it hasn't been for a long time you should upgrade asap.
Think of all the possible security issues.

If you do not wish to upgrade try the jos_components and jos_plugins tables but I am not certain if can restore your site without losing content or causing even more damage.

There's one thing I don't understand. The installation does not seem to affect other files on the server (such as templates or config files).

In fact, If I open the ftp, I can see (thanks to the time of last edit) that the only files changed are those of k2.

It seems more a database error than a file one. Am I wrong?

Ouch...

Since you don't have a backup there is little to be done.

You can try some of the following.

Manually FTP'ing and replacing ALL of K2's files (try this one more time with K2 2.5.7).
Setup a new Joomla 2.5 or 3.0 installation with the latest K2 and migrate all the content and the template.
The latter is the best option in my opinion

If you start dropping tables from the DB I dont think that will solve the issue

Before doing any of these remember to always have a recent backup of your site.

I don't think there's a backup... and this website is not mine but of a client of mine. That's why I'm so worried.

There's no way to disable k2 from the database?

Since the uploading did not help you,

the safest thing to do is to contact your hosting provider and try to restore a backup.

Sorry for this but Joomla! 1.6 and 1.7 are not supported.

Hello Valentina,

Joomla! 1.6 is no longer supported you should upgrade to Joomla 2.5.x or Joomla 3.0.x asap.

For the time being grab an older 2.5 version of K2 from here and replace the remote files through FTP.

Regards.

to many Database requests...

Category: English K2 Community

Hi Folks,

being around with K2 for a while and have a very strange behaviour: I wrote an Importer script which puts a lot of Items directly into the Database Tabels of K2. The Import splits the Items into three different Categorys. Catgeroy 1) has about 1.400 items and is displayed nearly immedently after clicking on that menuitem (Frontend). Category 2) has only 650 Items and ends up with a 500 Internal Server Error after 2 Minutes. Category 3) has about 50 Items and shows it Items (=Category List) after 1,5min.
The Category settings are all equal. But when i go into the server error log it shows, that Category 1) has about 70 Database requests and Category 1) with minor Items about 1.500 Database Requests for showing up Category List view.

Has anyone of you an Idea how can this be, and how can i fix this?

Thanks a lot,
Dennis

Error 500 on K2 Links for JCE?

Category: English K2 Community

Hello,

I'm having a problem with the K2 links extension (getk2.org/extend/extensions/date/item/869-k2-links-for-jce) on Joomla 3.0.2 and JCE 2.3.1

Inside the "New K2 item" screen, I get a 500 error when I try to access the "K2 Categories e Items" links in the link window.

The error is:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error)
http://localhost/joomla30/administrator/index.php?option=com_jce&view=editor&layout=plugin&plugin=link&component_id=10004

I have verified that all the extensions are enabled and I have created a K2 category and an article.

Do you guys know what could it be?
Also, if anyone got the extension working in a similar environment, please let me know. :)

Thanks in advance.

@Lefteris Kavadas: Thank you for your answer.

Here are my Settings, perhaps someone can give a hint on what it could be:

My test images:

image 2 - 400x640x24b JPEG (80,8kb) = 500 Internal Server Error in 9 of 10
image 3 - 300x240x24b JPEG (67,5kb) = ok in 9 of 10

Versions:
Joomla 2.5.8
K2 v2.6.2

Folders:
all exist and have 777 (for test environment 'media' incl. all subfolders have 777)
/media (777 incl. all subfolders)
/cache (777)
/tmp (777)

My PHP settings:
Apache/2.2.22
PHP Version 5.3.8 (version 4 tested, same effect)
MySQL-Version 5.1.60-log
memory_limit 100M
upload_max_filesize 8M
max_execution_time 90
GD Version bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
register_globals off
safe_mode off

Reloading (F5) helps sometimes.
Sometimes, 2 images (resolutions) are generated, but the rest do not and it stops

What can i do?

Blank site and broken administration after installing Disqus plugin

Category: DISQUS Comments for Joomla!

Hello!

Right after installing Disqus plugin site disappear - just blank page (HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error)).
Also in Control Panel I'm getting the same blank page when trying to open any plugin or module. Media Manager is blank too.

The only way to get site back is to uninstall Disqus plugins (luckily it's possible).

As I see on extension page extensions.joomla.org/extensions/5259 , recently few people had this problem too. Please help.  ???

Need a Version before the newest release of 3.0

Category: Frontpage Slideshow

I didn't pay close enough attention and missed a lot of product releases as I am currently only using 2.0.0 which is now displaying incorrectly as follows from the troubleshooting:

TROUBLESHOOTING
Issue: Oh no! My slideshow looks broken! Slides display one below the other! What's wrong?
This usually occurs if your hosting company is not "running" PHP as a CGI module. In this case, the dynamic CSS files produced by Frontpage Slideshow are unreachable as the server responds with a "500 Internal Server Error".

Solution: just go into the module parameters (in the backend), select the "Advanced parameters" slider on the right of the screen and then switch the option "CSS inclusion method" to "Embedded (on the output of the page)". This will force the CSS to "embed" onto the output of your slideshow instead of being called as an external dynamic CSS file. Please note that this option was added in Frontpage Slideshow v2.5+.

But my only option at this point is 3.0 which forces me to convert all the slides and everything... can I please have a 2.5+ version that will allow me to Embed the Css Inclusion Method! I purchased this product and have donwloded the 3.2 version but this does not help me!

Sincerely,
Drew
