Videos have no sound was created by Ruth Dehne
I just uploaded and installed the latest allvideos to my joomla 2.5 site. Converted files to mp4 format. I have video but no sound. I can play the videos on my computer fine but when I load them to my webpage, there is no sound. I did get a few videos to play with sound on Microsoft Edge (but not all of them) but none will play on Firefox or Chrome.

Appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.

(Chrome) seniorlifeministries.com/videos/june-2-2016/423-piano-prayer-is-the-key-if-god-didn-t-care-hudson

I have 8 files of videos (Videos) The first six work categories perform correctly on all 3 browsers, the last 2 are the problem: March 3, 2016 and June 2, 2016. I am attaching a spreadsheet to show you what I am getting.

There is one change that I made between the first 6 categories and the last 2: I got a different computer. Don't know if maybe I'm missing a driver that I had on the other computer. Our videos did not work for a long time because of that Silverlight issue with wmv files but now that you have updated the software they are working again. I converted all the videos to mp4 now.

Generally speaking, if a video is playing in one browser and not on another browser (or device in this matter) then this is an encoding issue.

H.264 should be used for mp4 videos.

Furthermore I noticed some strange behaviour, I tried to request the mp4 file to see if the file can be played by the browser natively (it should be) but it forcing me to download it. seniorlifeministries.com/images/videos/060216/PrayerIsTheKey_IfGodDidntCare-Hudson.mp4

This all leads me to believe that this is an encoding issue. The most safe format for you to use would be this -> caniuse.com/#search=264

Thank you for your quick reply.

I am using MOVAVI Video Suite to convert the videos and it plainly says that MP4 is using H.264 compression.

The one you sent me, was AAC which has some issues in terms of browser compatibility.

Can you provide links to your other mp4 files?

Well, I don't quite understand how it can be AAC - it was converted from mpg to mp4.

Here is what I do:
I downloaded the file (again) from the videocam. After downloading, it goes through some sort of analyzation and from that process I get 3 files:
20160602104233.mpg
20160602104233.mpg.modd
20160602104233.mpg.moff.
I usually just used the mpg file and convert it to mp4 using MOVAVI. However, this time I converted the file to MP4 using the PlayMemories software. I uploaded the file to the website and it did not load. (Firefox) (Chrome) (Edge)

This file loads and plays video but not audio:

This one works fine and I've followed the same process as I described above:

Here are the codecs that you are using ->

I have not used the software you are using but if the videos are being produced with different codecs, then you need to address this issue to the software's devs?
