Sorry but you cannot remove the play icon from the center of the video. However, in the left side of the video at the bottom there is another "play/stop" button. It is the first button on the toolbar. Once you press it the video starts. If you press it again the video stops. ;)

Is this because I'm using an older version?  Because, I know it can be done in the newer versions.

Technically... this is a "Pause" button.  A "Stop" button would stop the video, and take it back to the beginning. (See the player on the LongTail Video homepage, HERE , for an example.) Any way to add these buttons?

One more thing... Do you have a list of the compatible flashvars, for the v4.0.46 player?

Well... I got this to work, but I don't know if it will cause problems elsewhere.

• I downloaded the new version of JW FLV Media Player , and extracted it to a folder on my desktop.
• I renamed the extracted "player.swf" file to "mediaplayer_4.0.46.swf"
• I made a backup copy of the original "mediaplayer_4.0.46.swf" file, located at "/mambots/content/jw_allvideos/players", on my server.
• I uploaded the newly renamed "mediaplayer_4.0.46.swf" file, and overwrote the old one on the server (I did NOT upload any other files, from the extracted archive).
• I edited the "/mambots/content/jw_allvideos/jw_allvideos_sources.php" file, to append "icons=false" to the "flashvars" line, of the corresponding filetype I want to use (flv, flvremote, etc...).

Now, I have a "Stop" button, and the "Play" icon has been removed from the video area!!

Hopefully, this won't cause any problems elsewhere... (crossing my fingers!)
