I've been searching the form but couldn't find anything about it. I'm trying to use Joomla Plugins in the extra fields. Have anybody done it or aware of anything about it? Any help/info would be greatly appreciated Thanks

It is difficult. I managed it in Sobi2. But never in K2.

Lack of proper documentation.

I have done this before using this extension:

Although it was quite a while ago, and not with the current version of k2 - but that may be a good place to start.

depending on what you are trying to do, this is probably a better option, it works great with the current version of k2:

www.nonumber.nl/extensions/modulesanywhere

but it only works for modules

It wont help. They ask to parse Joomla plugins in K2 extra fields.

As i know Sobi allow it and it is well documented.

I suppose we should be asking the question, what kind of plugin are you trying to use through the k2 fields? I  have used this plugin to display a Joomla Google Map Plugin through one specified k2 field.

I'm trying to use a modified 'CSS Gallery' plugin, but all it shows in the extra fields is the plugin code

actually, this one (the first one I pointed out):

extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/embed-a-include/9801

does work the way you are asking. I just did a quick test to make sure, and it does cause the plugins to be parsed correctly.

The only "catch" is that some users say that it doesn't work when they turn on caching and truthfully, I didn't test that out for myself. 

 

I have used this 2 ways and both worked:

1. add plugin code to the k2 field

2. add plugin code the the k2 custom template
