You should remove the class="modal" in the item.php file or better yet remove the entire modal link if you do not need the lightbox.

If you are familiar with CSS you can hack bootrstrap's css and change the .modal class to something like div.modal so links remain unaffected.

i solved with another template,
but modal class is defined by boostrap, maybe you should make your script compatible, nowday so much templates and frameworks uses bootstrap.

The .modal class is used by Joomla! 's default lightbox engine, Squeezebox.

Since this is a core Joomla! functionality I think the temlate should be compatible with that lightbox engine as well since a lot of components use that.

There are a lot of (if not most) Bootstrap templates which do not have this conflict.
