My services category is my main category where i have configured parameters. I edited this category to say hide social icons and yet they still appear in my content. This category does not inherit parameters as it is my primary category where i have set the paramaters. i have checked that the item is in the services category and it is fine. So i am at a loss why i can't turn these off.

If the category is not inheriting its settings from another category and the changes cannot be seen, then these elements are probably hardcoded in the template.
