I have used k2 in my website. But using joomla registration form because I don't require so many information from user which k2 registration provides. Now, whenever a new user registers, he is only assigned a Joomla user group 'Registered'. I have created a 'Registered' user group in k2 as well. I want when a user registers, he should automatically be assigned to this k2 user group. Currently, I have to login in admin and then assign him to this group then only the user can see add item option :(

I have set the option 'Select the default K2 User Group for new registrations' to 'registered' user group. And k2 user profile is disabled in Advance setting.

Any idea how can I do this? or will this only work if user registers using k2 registration form?

I don't want the fields like description, url, etc therefore used joomla registration form

By disabling the user profile the K2 User plugin is not being executed, which means that the users do not sync.

What you can do:
Enable the user profile and override the profile and register.php files in order to remove the information you do not want.

okay! but what if user is logging using his social account? I am using one all social login plugin to allow users to login through facebook and google account. Currently, when user logs in through this he is not assigned the k2 user group .

So, when i will enable k2 user profile plugin will it work for social login as well?

Is the profile enabled and the user is still not synced?

When i enable the k2 user profile option, and when user logs in using his facebook account then the user group is assigned to him. But in frontend I get this error and user is not logged in:

Failed To Start The Session Because Headers Have Already Been Sent By "{path}/Plugins/User/K2/K2.Php" At Line 191

Which extension are you using?
Also are you using K2's latest version?

I am using one all social login plugin and k2 version is 2.7.1

Can you try disabling error reporting?
Furthermore, does the extension create normal Joomla! users?
