I've tried to upload or use .webp images as article thumbs, but it doesn't work. I don't get any images shown. Is there no support for .webp images in K2 or do you know any plugin which would help?

We use a system plugin for that.
This plugin converts jpg & png images on the frontend to webp format from the image directories you want.
So the original is jpg or png and it is on the frontend a webp file on the page.
