I am new to Joomla, but learning quickly.  I found the SIG plugin which is just plain beautiful in it's simplicity.  I also need a plugin that will let me do the same basic thing in a content item, but instead of images I need to insert  files (.pdf and .doc) and make them downloadable.  I want to be able to just ftp new files in the directory, and then they are on the page - just as SIG does...
I have looked at Docman, and that seems close - but so overkill for what I need.
