Okay kids.  I like you may have copied the { gallery }myphotos{ /gallery }  right off of the website, pasted it in an article and then changed the folder name to something else.  And like many others mine did not work.  Next I placed all of the images in the myphotos gallery, changed code to myphotos and still no workey. 

The FIX.

Delete the spaces before and after the word "gallery" and "/gallery".  It should look like this. {gallery}myphotos{/gallery}.

Your folder can be any name, just delete the leading and trailing spaces around gallery.

I suspect the author did it this way so that images would NOT show up in his example of the code placement.  Works great now!
