I use your system for my website (hofterlinden.net), and in a normal article it works like a charm. But when I try to use it inside custom html code more specifically an <il> element in an unordened list it won't work.
Is there a workaround for this problem ?

This is enabled by default in articles.
How are these tabs generated?

Those tabs are generated in the css code and the content is in the html code of the article.
I've used this tutorial codyhouse.co/gem/responsive-tabbed-navigation/.

If the tag is included in the article text it should work. If you have placed the tag manually in the template it will not work. This applies to Joomla! articles and K2 items. If you are using a third-party extension for your articles then you should ask it's developers if it supports content plugins.

I've reworked the tab system into a module in wich "prepare content" is enabled. When I inspect the element with google chrome I can see an <ul> item (id=sigFreeId2afc05fd23). So I supose SIG is loaded.
The Only problem is it won't display the thumbnails.

What's exactly the tab system you are talking about? If you are generating this from an AJAX request it will never work. In that case you need to ensure that all the styles and scripts of SIG are loaded.
