[FIXED] Blurry category images was created by Todd Allen
I saved my JPG at 100% quality and have my category image parameters in K2 set to 100 but it still looks like the image is getting compressed during upload/display. Does anyone else have this problem? Or better, a solution?
I've attached a sample of the two images.
Thanks!

Bump for help. I know others have this problem... has anyone found an answer to keep the category images from being compressed?

Same problem. Even the worst part is that my images start at the right size and it still recompresses to a larger file size that look horrible.

This is a GD problem. Not sure how to fix it :( maybe a sharpen in class.upload.php?
Also for the K2 dev guys to check out >>>
"GD Version 2.0 can also load truecolor JPEGs with as little loss as possible; however, bear in mind that JPEG is a lossy format, so repeated load/save cycles always reduce image quality. This is not a bug."
Maybe that is the problem, the image is being loaded and saved multiple times?

I've noticed that article images don't seem very sharp after being resized by K2. It's not JPEG compression artifacts in my case, just a slight blur. Is it possible to tweak GD default settings?

these images are cached, therfore possibly the caches needs to be flushed, or cache turned off when editing...go to tools/purge expired cache..then purge...may help

I'm not too sure this is the right solution. Has something changed in K2 that produces non-blurry item images. If so then a cache clear might do the trick, but I thinks the problem is in the actual creation of the image during upload time.
