Hi guys, posted a topic couple of days ago about this and I am really stuck with it to the point of what is the point !!!!.

What is happening my item is showing on all menu selections rather than only on the chosen selection and the reason I have given the link again is because I have posted screen shots which might help some clever person figure what I am doing wrong.

From screenshots in other post and the description I guess that you have only one category. The tooltip is hiding something.

If you have three menues for three different categories make sure right items are in each category and each menu links to the right category.

In case check for include subcategories yes/no which could also expaine the imtem showing up.

I have only 1 category set up.

There are 3 items linked to the 1 category.

The 1 category is linked to only 1 menu selection.

I have 3 out of the 5 menu items set up as k2 category type.

So why are the three items showing in all 3 menu selections, I am assuming the items that are linked to the category that is linked to the menu selection is all that should be showing.

I must be missing something here, if you have only one categeory, and you have 3 menu items pointing to the same category, i would expect each menu item when chosen to display the items belonging to that single category (re: the same items)

No, only one Menu selection is pointing to the single category.

When I set up the menu, I set the menu item type to k2 categories for three menu selections.

The menu selection pointing to the single category works fine, but the other two menu selections which are not pointing to any category are showing the items from the menu selection pointing to the single category.

Sorry, the link was broken, I see now, You need to create a seperate category for the Golf Travel menu and put some items in it and select it. K2 must be defaulting to the single catefory

IT WORKS!!!, BRILLIANT new it would be something simple, strange though it does that, do you think there is a small bug or have I set up wrong or would I be able to stop this from happening

I think you need only to select what you want and all is well

I Agree but it is annoying when you click on a menu selection and you get a whole lot of items where they should'nt be. That cannot be right and most surprised this is tolerated, quite sure some of you clever people cannot fix it. If I knew what I was doing I would have a go.

I might be missing the essence but wouldn't catalog mode fix it too?
Catalog mode is an option in the category properties in K2... if set to YES, it wont display items in the subcategory.

Hey everyone !

When I set a category to Catalog, only the categories within it are displayed. But what I want to do is:
Example:
category 1 / subcategory 11 / item A
category 1 / subcategory 11 / item B

My menu is pointing to category 1. The view displays subcategory 11 and items A and B.

But, I want to display ONLY item A. I want to see item A and B when the user hits subcategory 11 only.

I am searching for a way to handle this but could not until now. Would apreciate any help.

You may need considering changing your logic a little.... A K2 item belongs to only one category. A K2 category can have one or more subcategories. Maybe you should create another category and move the one item there.

Tks Lefteris, but I believe I did not explained well. I will try in other words.

I created five levels of categories. They all have items included.

Then I created one single menu pointing to the top parent category, which was set to Catalog Mode ON, on category settins. On the menu selecion, I selected only this parent category.

Then, when I hit the menu, only the children categories directed linked to the top parent category, which seems to be ok, since this top parent category is set to catalog mode = Yes.

Now, when I hit the view more button, I go to a view where I see the subcategories but bellow I see all items, even if this subcategory is set to catalog mode = yes.

This is the problem I am facing. I would like to be able to control, at item level, I mean, I would like to force an single item to appear on his subcategory only, not all subcategories that are above.

I expect I made myself more clear now.

You cannot a control the appearence of a single item. The settings are applied per category. For the case that you hit the subcategory but the settings are inherited by the parent one, then you may need to create a menu link to the subcategory also.
