multilanguage in k2 joomlabamboo template was created by José De Eusebio
I am building a multilanguage site based on a joomlabamboo template which uses K2. Should I set the multilanguage skeleton differently than in a "normal" Joomla 2.5 installation?
Are there any specifics for a multilanguage setting in K2?
Any documentation I can refer to?

Thanks!!!

José

Hi. K2 uses standard language files. So all you need to do is to install the Joomla! languages you want and the install the corresponding K2 language pack. K2 language packs can be found at getk2.org/extend/translations. Please note that if your template defines other language strings than the default ones, you will need to translate them by yourself ( or install the template language pack if it's available).

So, I need to install two different language packs... Joomla and K2.
What about the "inner structure"? Should I build it in Joomla and then import all the articles into K2, or work directly in K2 and establish the categories, items and so fort in a multilanguage structure in k2 without building it first in the Joomla installation?

Thanks!!!!

The content is different from the language files. Language files include translations for interface elements ( "Save" or "Print" buttons for example ). The content is manipulated by Joomla! 2.5 core language system. You need to enable the system multilanguage plugin. Then when you create content you assing it to one language. Use Google to find more resources on setting up a multilanguage site with Joomla! 2.5. Or even better you can try searching about this in the official Joomla! documentation.

Thanks! I did read a lot about multilanguage settings in Joomla. My question was mainly a concern, meaning that I didn´t quite know if I needed to build the multilanguage "architecture" and settings in the Joomla installation and then do something else related to it in K2.
From your answer I suppose that the multilanguage structure needs to be build in the Joomla installation and then import it to K2 for the rest of the capabilities that K2 offers. I suppose this means also that K2 "imports" the multilanguage status of any article and transforms it into an Item with those same characteristics...
Am I right?

Thanks again in advance!!!

You may add anytime extra languages to Joomla! Once you do this and follow the steps recommeded by the Joomla! guys then you can add content to K2 to specific language.

Thanks! I just needed to confirm the work process.
I did know and studied about the Joomla! multilanguage configuration, but wasn´t quite sure about importing the articles into K2 after the process if it needed at all a different config for K2.
Thanks again!
