How to create sub-categories? was created by Tex Long
I want to have a menu that shows something like this:

- Offices
...- Elected
......- Judge
......- Commissioners
......- Treasurer
......- Sheriff
......- etc
...- Appointed
......- Voter Registrar
......- Elections Admin
......- etc
...- Other
......- Emergency Management
......- Public Information
......- Veterans' Affairs
......- Information Technology

So, basically a Category of "Offices", Sub-cats of "Elected", "Appointed", and "Other", with sub-sub-cats beneath each of those.

Maybe I'm trying to make this too hard?

LATER: dammit, the indents got eaten... maybe I can use dots instead of spaces.

This is very easy. When you create a category, you have to set the parent category. So it is easy. First, create one of the main categories, e.g. Other. The create one of the sub categories, e.g. Emergency Management. In the stup of Emergency Management, you find a setting called Parent Category. Set this to Other.

You should now see that Emergency Management has become a sub-category of Other.

Hope this helps.

I was making this too hard, looking for something other than pinning it to the parent. You're right, this IS easy, as far as defining the content... now, if I can make the menu show up that way, I do believe this is exactly what we want.

Thank you, Svein!
