I've got a menu link to a K2 item, but can't seem to figure out how to shut off the extra fields. ie: Author, related, social icons, authors recent.

I tried shutting off all the category params but doesn't seem to change the menu link.

There's nothing on the menu params either. Am I missing something here??

Hi. You can achieve this in two ways (the first is the easier and the faster):
1. Edit the item and in the "Item view options" set your desired settings.
2. Edit the category and in the "Item view options" set your desired settings. Then go to edit the specific item to ensure that the corresponding settings in the "Item view options" are set to "Inherit from category".

digging deeper I have found the source of my confusion.

* item was set to inherit

* category was set at I desired - but still not getting item view as desired

* BUT, the category was also set to inherit from a different category!! This is what I was missing.

* Changing setting in the other category produced desired item view
