We have the mod_k2_content module which retrieves latest X items from K2 per some criteria (ordering, date created etc.). In K2 v2 "final" coming in a few days, you will see 2 more options, one for retrieving items in a random order and one for retrieving items by popularity (most read).

Hi, I decided to go for K2 for a new online magazne, and I find it a great step in functionality.
I have only one request: in modk2_content, is there a way to order items, first by category and then by order, for in a magazine layout first priority is always given to rubrics, and then to articles?
Having this feature would make the module invaluable tool in a magazine with no other extra workarrounds needed on admin side. I mean, authors would care only to put their articles on the right category.

It would work if you had each month as it's own separate category.
