How do u change the real name to username for comment module K2

I'm not sure what you´re meaning but in the K2 settings you can change some Profiles and even too in the Joomla Users when klicking on "site"

What i mean is that, the comment module, uses the real name of the user not the username of the user. e.g. real name = "Tshidiso Gumbo" rather than username = "Big-t". Can you help?

In the modul on the right - there is a setting : "show commenters name" "yes" or "no"
Set it to "no". This must be all.

i feel stupid cause i dont know how i missed that, lol, anyhow its my first time on this components and i saw a lot of things on it, i still need to learn much about it. Do u know how to integrate it with jomsocial

I have installed Jomsocial and have the standard view too.
Because there are many moduls you can mix the positions and make K2 in the middle
and JS Stream etc. at the right side maybe with a top menu.

Dont know what youre thinking ;)

thx for the tip, but notice that the variable used by k2 to show the author of the article is the real name not user name. is there a way to change that... u sound to be good with joomla what do u do?

mh .... tested it by myself. But there is to see the Username, not real name. And i didn't make any changes in the settings.
In the global settings, settings in the item and even in the categories you can set options what is to see - which name.
Check this three possibilities if there is maybe something set wrong.

I did'nt see any place you can chose real name or user name... Where do you see it?
Which version of K2 are yo using?

Has anyone found a solution? I just think, personally when the full real name is displayed it's too.. "personal" for some people and I just want username to appear when people submit items instead of the their full name..

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hello Kyle,

Where do you want the username to appear?

Instead of the author name you can use this snippet
<?php echo $this->item->author->username; ?>

if you want to use it in the comments you have to read this post
