Unable to create categories

I don't have an error message to show you though, because whenever I save the category I get redirected to a blank admin page. This even when I have the debug mode on.
I've looked into this: But I don't have access to that part and I won't get it either as I've asked my host about it already.
Is there another way for me to solve this problem or should I just wait for a later release of this comp? (if its not too long hehe)
P.S. If you still want to see any error messages, could you tell me how to make them show up? :)
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Could it possibly have anything to do with permissions?
If so, what permissions does K2 require to fully operate?

perhaps it's a javascript or browser issue. Have you tried a different browser?
are you on the latest joomla? 1.5.14
although I'm not a permissions expert it doesn't sound like permissions to me. creating categories makes entries into the database but not doing anything with files.
I would suggest doing a fresh install of latest joomla followed by K2, just to confirm that your evironment doesn't have any specific issues.
Let us know what you find.

I've tried reinstalling the mod and adding a new category with the latest versions of Firefox, IE and Chrome. Same problem of each of those browsers.
The Joomla version I'm using is the latest one, 1.5.14.
I've tried it on another joomla install but am having the same problem there.
By the way, the only permission it doesn't have is the 'GRANT' one.

I run into the same problem when creating a new category. When I click on save, it jumps to a http 400 error.
Turning on the debugging in Joomla does not help, cause it jumps straight to the errorpage...
I cannot find any other build then the last one here on K2, so I cannot test a previous build.
If this problem is solved, or known. Can anybody please post a solution.

Sorry, for asking the question first and then come up with the solution. (I was reading and playing around with this issue for hours... Then found the solution within minutes after posting)
Not my solution by the way, read it somewhere in the forum...
To solve this problem: install the extension: mbstring in your php. It is not a default extension.

Does installing it on a subdomain cause problems?
