K2 Modules display 'WRITTEN_BY_MALE' on Joomla pages

K2 Modules display 'WRITTEN_BY_MALE' on Joomla pages was created by John Comeskey
I've noticed that if I have the K2 Content Module published on Joomla pages (ie: non-K2 pages), and if I have author name set to show in the module parameters, then in the frontend, the module displays a big ugly 'WRITTEN_BY_MALE' or 'WRITTEN_BY_FEMALE' in front of the author name.
Is there a fix for this?

Add this to the en-GB.mod_k2_content.ini language file:
WRITTEN_BY_FEMALE=Written by
WRITTEN_BY_MALE=Written by

WRITTEN_BY=Written by

Allan, make sure that you changed the correct file and that your changes stuck. Then try clearing site cache and browser cache.

There are no variables like that in en-GB.mod_k2_content.ini. I found them in en-GB.com_k2.ini. And these variables were already set to the suggested values. I am using K2 v 2.1.

Right. You need to add the variable name AND the value.

What more is needed? This really puzzles me. It happens when I use the K2 content module.
