I have in the past used the Movable Type plug in to manage quick content changes, adds and deleting of Joomla sites.
I LOVE K2, but this is a killer feature for me. If you're going to be building this as an app that will provide the most important blogging functions, for me this is MUST.
Even a backdoor allowing connecting or piggybacking on the Movable Type plug-in or a connection with another XML-RPC plug in would be IMMENSELY useful.

This has also been requested in this thread,
k2community.joomlaworks.gr/forum/topics/desktop-client-blogging
and I think it is a good idea. It is useful and provides an easier way for a lot of people to publish articles.

Please could this be implemented? I need a super simple solution for clients who want to blog on the move via email. For one, K2 is what they need to organise content. I can get content into Joomla from email using Posterous, an RSD plugin and an XML-RPC plugin such as MetaWeblog (others are available, including Blogger, built into Joomla). However, I can't find an XML-RPC plugin which will output to a K2 category.
In the absence of a developed plugin, workarounds might include an auto-copy of content from a Joomla category to a K2 category. Any other ideas...?
