Hijacking of Joomla Articles was created by juro
It would be great to have the possibility of hijacking the Joomla. This would include:
Control Panel
- change "Add Article" to "Add Item"
- change "Article Manager" to "Items"
- change "Categories" to K2 categories
remove "Content" tab or reroute "Content" tab to Components/K2
The reason behind this is to remove the ambiguity for less IT minded editors.

In K2 v. 2.2, you can replace the standard quickicons with the K2 icon panel. You could then use a component called "CQI Custom Quick Icons" to remove the standard icons that is not necessary anymore.

Roland, You might be interested to read this guide at K2Joom.
I plan to also modify this further to remove some other redundant Joomla menu items too, but remember, as soon as you upgrade Joomla, then you would need to modify the files again.

Simon,
No time to waste here :-)
If you use the component I mentioned, there should be no need to modify any core files and no problems with Joomla upgrades. With this component you get a list of icons that you can unpublish as with a lot of other things in Joomla. Take a look here:
