hi,,while listing the items, it is also giving the name, avatar and email link of the item owner which can be publicly viewed. I need to get rid of the email. How could i do that?

assuming that you are referring to the user pages....

have a look at the section "Layout & view options for user (author) pages" in parameters where you can hide or show emails and many other user related options
