Front-end: Add new item was created by alexvd
Hi K2 users/developers,
I have one website with K2 v2.0 and in every (sub) category I see a link "Add a new item in this category".
On another website I installed K2 v2.1 but I don't see this link any more. I found in the forums that there is a link in the K2 login module for adding items - however, this is not useful for me because I need the standard Joomla registered users to be able to add items (and I don't really want to maintain two user databases with different profiles).
My questions are:
1. is the link to add items in categories still available in K2 v2.1?
2. is there a reason why K2 is not using the standard Joomla user database?
Thanks very much for any help/clues!
Alex

Having the same issue, I don't want to use the module and I don't get an 'Add Item' link, I only get an 'Edit Item' link...
Is there generic URL for adding an item that we can create a menu item for?

Hi,
Make sure the user is in the registered user group or create a new group and set the settings accordingly.
You get only the Edit Item link if you're in an item view. Add New Item link will appear in a Category view. If you're in a group with frontend editing item and add new item permissions, you will see a Add Item link in K2 login module.
