3rd party extensions and K2 content was created by Flavia Silveira
Hi,
I am confused about the integration of K2 with many other 3rd party extensions.
I understand that K2 stores content on a different content table than com_content which causes most extensions (built to work with com_content tables) not to "see" the K2 content.
When I contacted the other extension developers they say that the problem is with the way K2 is engineered and not with the other extensions since they all work well with com_content and that the majority of users are not using K2 for their sites.
On the other hand I can see that more and more users are moving toward frameworks like Zoo and K2 which means that all extensions should work whether you have K2, Zoo or any other framework installed or not.
So...my question to the K2 team (or anybody else that knows the answer) is, would it be possible to develop a plugin that would redirect com_content calls to K2 tables if K2 was installed? That would solve any compatibility issue with extensions that still don't see the K2 content.
Any input on that?

Thanks,

Flavia
