Can K2 do it for us? was created by Jon Hauser
Hi All,

We run a Joomla site for news, data, and other information for the dairy industry

www.xcheque.com

We are starting to push out of the limitations of the Joomla site construct in terms of page layouts for a number of key reasons including

1) We are preparing newsletters for us and for others that we want to present with a publication feel rather than that of a website. That means that we want css / html control of almost the full page rather than being restricted to the Joomla content pane. We also have other content such as charts and data that we want to put onto a clean page.

As a part of this we want to work on bridging the gap between printed copy layouts and web pages. In particular achieving web layouts that have the same look and feel as as a well designed paper document.

2) We have been asked to "push content" to other people's sites via an iframe or wrapper. When doing this we just want the content page up there - not the rest of the site

But! ...

It is an obvious and critical requirement that all of this capability comes from a common database and a common set of components / modules / plugins.

We don't want to duplicate any of our system just for the sake of page layouts.

So ...

Will K2 do the trick?

As a starting point, can you point us to some example sites or pages where multi-theme layout and also some Newspaper styling has been implemented

Cheers
