Front Page Slide Show working.... was created by Mark Banks
Good news, FPSS is now fully functioning with the component - it can retrieve featured, latest, random 'items' as required. Oh, yes, this is with the Mosets Hot Property component, not with K2 (shame). A clever chap has made a bridge between the two - good for him and Hot Property users. Now seriously, when will JW release a K2 compatible version of their flagship commercial FPSS for their paid up/licenced customers? We've been sitting on unfulfilled promises since at least October 2009. Rocket Theme, Joomla Bamboo, Joomla Praise have all upgraded their similar products within that time, why not FPSS...or UCD??QAPBLX QTO

great suggestion (even if there's already rokstories extension which works with K2), maybe FPSS could add related news titles and links below each slide automatically (just a suggestion)
regarding the OT you started, where can I find reference to the integration you told between hot property and FPSS? would you be so kind to tell me?

Hi Guido,

Here's the link to the site - JoomlaMoto - somewhere in Mexico. There are several image gallery offerings for HP that the dev has put together, with the FPSS bridge being the latest.

Also worth checking out 'Very SIG' that now works with HP - www.bretteleben.de/lang-en/joomla/vsig-for-hot-property.html

PS - I like the adaptations that you've made to K2 for your site - very nice!

yes, very strange that there's no k2 support in FPSS.

Drives me CRAZY

Hey Followeyes, there have been good slideshow modules, like Rokstories (maybe it's not free, don't remember), for months now. What differentiates FPSS is that you can decide by hand which articles to display, thanks to the backend component, and some other neat options you'll not find anywhere else. In fact FPSS is a component+module, nothing like that on the market...

Well, one honest reason is we're working a lot with K2 to improve it and yes, we have left FPSS + K2 integration behind. However v3 of FPSS is ready and once it passes our quality control checklist we will roll it out as a free upgrade to existing customers.

This is a very nice looking module and seems to work well. The configuration is easy. One nice thing is that it supports floating-width templates in a very elegant way. It does not always work in IE6, but I've given up on IE6 now. A feature that I used in the standard Joomla version of this module is missing: color themes.

Fotis, has the internal quality control checklist been done for V3 of FPSS? Looking forward to seeing it soon.

Fotis,

Since it has been two months since your last update, I was wondering what the status is on the QA checklist.

Thanks
