Comment field wont work was created by Mats Balkoe
Hello!I want to enable my users to leave a comment. When I open an article there is a link "Be the first to comment". When I click on the link, nothing happens. I cant write a comment. Theres is a "blue square" in which i guess you could leave your answer. But you cant. Do anyone know what might be the problem?

Did you turn commenting on in the main parameters?
Go to the K2 Dashboard and click Parameters. Scroll till you see the Comment parameters.
Make sure you have commenting turned on and check to see who has the ability to comment, everyone? or just registered users?
Hope that helps...

Hi Marni!
Thank you for your replay. Unfortunately it didn't work.
Do you have any other suggestion?

I have the same problem. Only want to registered users to leave comments.
When I change the settings to allow everyone to comment it is working.
So I think it has something to do with user rights.

Hi!
I have solved problem. I did like this
1) I registered the users.
2) Then I logged in (i did this for each user).
3) Clicked on the link "My account"
4) Scrolled down and clicked on "Save"
Then they were able to write comments on the site.

Are you using the K2 Login module or the standard Joomla Login module?
If you are using the K2 one, then there should be no issue.
You may also be interested to know, that we have a mod to the commenting system, Auto Comment Notification.
You, the admin, can be emailed whenever a comment is left on you site.
Additionally, we also have a guide that removes the recaptcha for registered users that are logged in, they have already been approved, so why burden them with it.
Any questions then let us know.

I am using the Yootheme login module beacause its looking great and fits in my header beacause its horizontal.
But what's the difference between the joomla login and K2 login?

I believe this is the issue.
K2Joom said:Are you using the K2 Login module or the standard Joomla Login module?
A joomla standard login module conect to table #_users and k2 login module connects to table #_k2_users in your database. Users registered using the joomla module will not get synchronized automatically until you update it manually in the backend admin panel (by clicking on it in the k2 users manager and save it again). If you check the DB you will see what i said is true. This expains why Mats Balkoe succeeded.
BTW thank you k2joom.com for your great documentation :)

I have a similar problem with user rights. I created a group named special member by using User Groups and gave this special member group rights to post comments and other things. Then for registered users and visitors I put "no" to post comments. However, nothing happened. Registered users can still post comments. HoweverIt seems that user group rights do not work or I am simply missing something. Please help!Simon Wells (K2 Support) said:
