Simple image gallery problem was created by Dimitris Travlos

Hello again! I also have a problem with simple image gallery... When i upload a zip file with photos, when the upload finish i see under the file upload form field this: {gallery}3{/gallery}. Can you help me on how can i fix it? Thank you very much!

The tags you say, are shown in the backend or in the frontend? Could you provide a link to your site?

They show on the backend.... I removed the plugin and installed it again... But the same... I upload succesfully the zip file with the images... But in the item i see the tag only...

Are you sure that the upload is done successfully? When you go to the item on the backend do you see to the gallery tab the images you had on the zip file?

The first time that i changed to rootfolder = media/k2/galleries i saw with ftp that the files were uploaded succefffully! and in the frontend i had an error that was telling it could not create temp folder for thumbnail. With the re-install i put as rootfolder images/stories/. And I think it cant upload them? What should i do to work correctly? (Is greek language allowed to speak?)

The root folder should be images/stories as default. The K2 mechanism for the gallery by default uploads and unzips the zip file inside media/k2/galleries. Have you checked the permissions of the media folder?

(I'm afraid that if we start speaking greek it wouldn't be fair to anyone who has the same problem with you to be unable to solve it because of this, so I say we stick to the english if you don't mind).

Yes.. The folder galleries is 777. I put in images/stories and media/k2/galleries 777. Is there something else that i should check ?? ( I agree :P)

Tell me this. When you select the zip file and you save the item, after reopening it do you see any images at the gallery tab? If you don't check to the folder also, just to be sure that the images are not there.

I just saw something.. When the plugin is disabled in the front end i see the tag {gallery}3{/gallery} in the frontend. But when i enable it i cant see anything...

I renamed the root folder in jwsig.php from images/stories/ to /media/k2/galleries/ . Now i can see in the front end the media gallery. I cant see the thumbs (i see only the image border) but when i click in an image it opens succesffully! What should I do for the thumbs?

Actually your problem is that you are using SIG and not SIG Pro. The free version is not currently supported for K2. You will have to modify the plugin to work with K2 or just get the Pro version. For the modification try searching to the forum here and on www.joomlaworks.gr/forum

To expand on Yiota comments, there is a modified SIG free version that is in circulation and can be found in these forums, but it is also worth noting that there are still reports that the free version does not work.

However, if you do purchase the Pro version, then you will get support direct from Joomlaworks.
