SEO for K2 was created by Francis Darren
Hi, I have my SEF turned on and I have mod_k2_content set to show k2 items from a category. I also have a menu item doing the same thing for that category. I noticed that 2 different URLs were created.mod_k2_content seems to add /component/k2/ as part of the URL. Is there a way to avoid this such that both the menu item and mod_k2_content points to the same item?

hey dude - the support aint great - cant blame the developers though - it is a free product and they are no doubt busy with the next version - however you would expect fellow users to offer a bit more assistance now and then.
I'm afraid I haven't got an answer to your question, however have you considered using sh404SEF - a few niggles.. but on the whole does a good job

Yes, I'm thinking of trying it out. I was waiting for an answer before doing so. I've been reading a bit about SEO but I'm not an expert. I came across an article from google stating that using sef plugins may make it harder for the crawlers to work. I'm slightly confused over that.
Anyway, I would like to have some control over my URL just in case I use a different platform some day. Also I do not understand why mod_k2_content is producing a different URL in comparison to those from the menu item even though they are both extracting from the same category. I've noticed that this problem only happens when the category you are extracting information from is a sub category.
Regarding support, I know they are busy. However, some form of support is expected even though its free. It's really frustrating trying to get something to work and being unable to find information to solve my issues. I think good support is needed for any software to succeed, especially at its early stages.

I believe I've seen those links already. So is SH404SEF the solution to my issue?

Short answer to this discussion. A solution trial of the problems can be. The Itemid of the top destination menue link must be added to the link in the source code. However, I have not managed to test it yet.

Hi Michael, I don't think I can do that. It means I'll have to change the URLs of all my links. This would probably have a huge negative impact as any links to my site will become invalid, unless I do a redirect. I do have a decent amount of traffic even though my page rank is 0.
