Have you tested it with your Ja Rasite template? Some template have built in K2 subtemplates
You should be able to add the component without changing your site until you use it.

Thanks
I dont want to change the existing pages, just add k2 to use its blogging facilities as an extra part to the site.

Just be sure not to click the import joomla button unless you want all your joomla articles to be k2 items as well......
they coexist nicely...

Its either, or, or both...
If you are going to use all articles as item - import once
If you are going to use a few articles as items - do them manually
If you are going to use new content for items - dont import
Dont click import twice....you may get dupes
